Dr. Shani Eitan - she is unique!
It's not every weekend that the #1 Hebrew language newspaper in Israel,Yedioth Ahronoth , features 1 of our staff members on the front cover... An inspiring life story: from a career in high-tech to a medical residency. Meet Dr. Shani Eitan , the new resident physician in the Pediatric Department of Laniado Hospital . She is a mother of three children, a former biomedical engineer, and now a pediatrician at Laniado Hospital . Dr. Shani Eitan joined the hospital this week, completing an exciting complete 360 degrees circle, at the place that has accompanied her for years.
When her eldest son was hospitalized in pediatric intensive care as a baby, she made a decision that would change her life - to leave a successful career in high-tech and become a doctor. As a part of the ongoing cooperation between Laniado Hospital and Ariel University , Dr. Eitan completed her entire training at Laniado Hospital - from student to intern. A unique story occurred when, during her studies in the Gynecology and Maternity Department , while practicing ultrasound, she discovered that she herself suffered from a lack of amniotic fluid, and thus she went from role of student to patient, and gave birth to her third son at the hospital. "I choose Laniado," - shares Dr. Eitan , "because here I can truly influence and make a difference. The magic of Laniado Hospital is in the human and special relationship, both to the staff and to the patients." Please join us in congratulating her and wishing her the best!
Letter to the Editor
Dear all , I would like to convey my gratitude for the fantastic treatment I received at the hospital. I was admitted to the emergency department on the evening of Friday 14th of March.
There I was met by a team of staff who not only were professional but also friendly. They worked on me relentlessly until they found out what they thought was the problem. I was then transferred to the intensive care unit of the cardiology department. Where again I was treated with the utmost care. I had a nurse that kept an eye on me all night. I later found out that she had worked that morning and had no sleep. Over the next day the decision was made to implant a pacemaker in order to get my heart to beat consistently.
All the staff were excellent and polite all through my stay. I would like to add special thanks to the following staff. Moran who looked after me in the emergency room. Avishag who was my excellent nurse in the intensive care unit. I would also like to mention from the ward a young lady called Kinneret who was just kind. I would grateful if you could pass on my thanks to the above mentioned staff. I will continue to sing the praises of the hospital . Many thanks-which is not enough. Steve Goodman .
Thank you Supporters of Laniado
The staff members who clean and do repair jobs etc. in the New Hospital building thank YOU all The Supporters of Laniado , for the donation of a hot and cold water machine to makes their working day more comfortable.

Nursing Scholarship Campaign for the 2024 – 2025 academic year Your generous support can help students at the Tessler Academic School of Nursing — and nurses specializing in critical hospital fields — pursue their calling. I know that you pledged with Leonard for the Sheltered Hospital but do hope you can continue this mitzvah of helping a student. Why Your Support Matters At Laniado Hospital , we are training over 100 students in our BSN program , preparing them to become registered nurses. In addition, 90 students are enrolled in a special career-change program for those with prior degrees who seek a more meaningful, stable profession. Many of these students are older women, often married with children, who are eager to transition into nursing — where they can both help support their families and also contribute to their communities. With Israel facing a national nursing shortage , your support directly impacts patient care at Laniado Hospital. As we expand our hospital to meet the growing population of Netanya and the Sharon region , we need more skilled nurses to care for our patients. See a short video of some of our graduates who now work in the hospital and have benefitted from YOUR help. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lIK-a0bPCBM The Impact of Your Scholarship Most of our students require financial assistance to complete their training. A scholarship of 7,000 shekels (or the equivalent in any currency) provides them with peace of mind, allowing them to focus on their studies without financial stress. This support is a key reason why we have an almost 100% graduation rate . Beyond the classroom, we also provide specialty training for nurses already working at Laniado, enabling them to advance in fields like intensive care , which has become more critical than ever in light of recent national challenges. How You Can Help Attached are details on how to make a tax-deductible donation via check or bank transfer in various currencies. If donating via our secure online link, https://www.israelgives.org/amuta/580193035 please indicate that your gift is for a scholarship , or let me know directly. If you live in Israel, you can also donate by credit card over the phone (09-860-4785) or by sending a check. Every scholarship recipient expresses deep gratitude to their sponsor, with personal handwritten thank-you letters and recognition at our Scholarship Ceremony in May , attended by donors and their families. The next generation of nurses — and the patients they will serve — are counting on your support. I look forward to hearing from you soon. With warm regards, Eli Knoller Community Relations & Development

Magic in the Pediatric Department Not even missiles flying and running to shelters every few hours will stop good people like the wonderful magicians of #magic4israel, led by the one and only Avi Frier from coming to Israel from the USA to entertain hospitalized kids at Laniado Hospital's Pediatric Department , and bring smiles to their faces for a short while! One Of The Underground Protected Hospitalization Areas Following the increase of missile fire towards the South and Center of Israel, an exercise was held at Laniado in the underground protected hospital department , used for Emergencies, at Laniado hospital . The temporary protected complex contains dozens of inpatient hospital beds, medical gas and oxygen infrastructure etc. The complex was established last year, in preparation for an emergency, in accordance with the various possible scenarios, with an investment of millions of dollars.
Mr Nadav Chen, CEO of Laniado Hospital said " we are increasing our Emergency preparations, following the increase of missiles being fired by the terrorist organization Hezbollah towards the South and North. The underground complex will provide refuge to patient's hospitalized in some of the wards that were build in the past and are not protected. All the new construction that has been carried out in recent years meets the IDF and Ministry of Health strict sheltered protection protocols." This situation is exactly why we have initiated the planning of a mega $48 million project – the construction of an Emergency Protected Hospital and trauma center . Please help us to protect the people of Israel and save lives at this critical time.
Wishing you a long life- Ad 120 Traditionally, we wish our friends a long life, ad 120, (until 120) which was the age Moshe Rabbeinu was when he passed away. We would like to remind our friends around the world, regardless of their age or health, of the great importance of advanced estate planning. Failure to do so might allow the State to use your assets in ways you might not have wanted. We encourage our friends and supporters to apply long-lasting legacy gifts to mid-long term projects at Laniado Hospital , where we will continue to serve the People of Israel for generations to come. Two such projects planned in the coming years are the new sheltered Emergency Department (4,000 sq. meters) and the Hospital Tower (40,000 sq. meters), to be built at a cost of over $250 million. For more details on the various opportunities, please feel free to confidentially contact Eli Knoller on 052-634-5741 or eknoller@laniado.org.il The people of Israel will thank you. Thanks to our Donors for lovely beautifully hand knitted goods Donated for our Neo-Natal Department & Pediatrics
